Frugal February, Day 23. A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

We are on the home stretch and can I please share with you that frugality is not easy?

I had a bad day of frugality in that I went to TJ Maxx and dropped over $100 on stuff. Now I could argue that I was frugal in going to a discount store and that I bought things needed and they were on clearance. But the reality and the God’s honest truth is that I used things we needed as an excuse to go shopping.

Nick and I got into an argument and even as I write this I am ashamed to admit that I found myself shopping as a way to cope with my emotions and grumpiness. Not a very mature way to handle things but I am seeing this as an opportunity for growth that I have identified a problem and now have a course of action to deal with it. Before this month I very loosely knew why I was shopping, other than that I enjoyed doing it.

Can anyone else identify with me?

And so I spent $100.52 on under garments needed, a new pair of jeans for Emma, some dog toys for the dog who rips everything apart, and some easter basket stuffers.

I also purchased gas on the way home from ballet in the evening. And that was that. I am trying to not spend but by golly, not spending has made this month SO LONG! Yeesh!

Hope you all are having a great day! Loves!
