A Good Day for Cheese, Frugal February, Day 22

It’s the Leaning Tower of Cheese-a!

Six more days until Frugal February is over! I must tell you that this challenge has for sure been challenging!

This mama has been realizing how much I enjoy shopping and so it is hard to not go look around. I also use gift giving as a way to show love. And not even gifts, but things that my kids need or a small toy for the dog…I enjoy getting things for people that will bring joy to their lives. It has been hard not to shop but the benefit and the lessons learned outweigh the struggle.

Today we went to the amish grocery store in our town, Rentown, for some foods. I bought 3 boxes of cereal for $1.29 each, along with lunch meat and several types of cheese. Cheese is one of those foods that we use in lots of different meals as well as just snack on. It’s fun to have lots of kinds. This time I bought provolone, pepperoni cheese, swiss, and an onion cheese. The cheeses there are cheaper than the store, so it is a good place to stock up. The pepperoni cheese was only $1.89/pound and you just can’t beat that price anywhere! I also got some mozzarella as we are planning on having calzone’s at some point this weekend.

As we near the end of the month I find us using a lot of our grocery budget which has been surprising to me. However, I am committed to stay on budget. We will see!

Loves!
