Friday Girl Fun!

Friday was kind of a weird, wacky day.

We went about our day as regularly scheduled. I tried using this coffee mug for a fall-esque vibe but I don’t think it made the Lindsay cut. I gave this to Nick a couple years ago for his birthday so it will stay but it just isn’t for me. Am I the only one who is particular about coffee mugs? Our day continued on but I noticed that we were all so tired. Emma fell asleep during her math lesson which is not an Emma thing to do at all. Cal kept falling asleep, which is a regular occurrence but he seemed to be more tired than usual. I finally succumbed to the sleepiness and took a nap from 2-3 from which it felt so hard to get out of. I’m not sure if all of this was because of the illness going around (I’ve heard lots of people we know are getting sick and feeling tired) or if it’s because we are now officially back in the throng of work, school, and extra curriculars, all going on at the same time, but the fact is that we were exhausted.

I had meant to make a run to our antique booth (if you are local we are booth 20 at the Southgate Antique Mall!) but with the nap I ran out of time because…we were going to the Barbie movie!

Before I talk about this evening though I would like to circle back to talk about the inventory run that didn’t happen. I try to show myself grace when these things don’t happen. I can get so down on myself when it comes to not meeting my goals that it can become overwhelming for my mental health. However, on the other side of that, if I get too comfortable in the feeling of missed deadlines I can then feel no regard towards not doing something and just have an eh whatever kind of attitude. It’s a fine line Johnny Cash and I walk over here.

Emma and I met my mom at Olive Garden and we all ordered soup, salad, and breadsticks. It really is the best meal.

Then we went to see the Barbie movie together. We went to a theater with the leather recliners which were so cozy. We ordered a big popcorn to split and it was so good. I have not been to a movie theater in a really long time and it was a really fun treat to have fresh movie popcorn.

Have you seen the Barbie movie? I didn’t know what I was expecting but I really liked it! I loved America’s rant on the stress put on women…let’s just say that I felt that hard core. We also all had a bonding moment when they were talking about moms and daughters. It was a good movie and better than I thought it would be.

And that was our Friday. Cal had gone to a football game and Nick had been able to stay home and unpack. It was a good day that ended with all of us in safely in our beds and still healthy which is all anyone can ask for. We are blessed beyond measure, sweet friends and pray you have a wonderful holiday weekend.
